Rockaway Hideaway

This portrait of Rockaway made for August Journal is really a portrait David Selig. He couldn’t find good food to eat after surfing. So he started Rockaway Taco. Then he couldn’t find really fresh produce, so he started Edgemare Farm in a vacant lot. Now he’s bought a castle and—as you can imagine—all kinds of great things are happening there. The Tuscan farmhouse was barged to Rockaway in 1912 and rebuilt to have the best views of the Rockaway peninsula and Jamaica Bay.
